Dean Martin & The Andrews Sisters

R.I.P. Patty Andrews, lead singer and last surviving member of The Andrews Sisters, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 94. The gals guest-starred several times on The Dean Martin Show, joining him on the September 29, 1966 episode (pictured above) to sing a medley of Latin-flavored tunes (including two of their own hits), bookended by Dean’s 1955 smash, “Memories Are Made Of This” (l. to r.: Dean, Patty, LaVerne, Maxene).

On a personal level, The Andrews Sisters didn’t always get along — in fact, Patty and Maxene hadn’t been on speaking terms for years before finally reuniting in 1987 to accept their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — but in performance, their harmonies were groundbreaking and will forever live on as a legendary legacy of their talent.
